I love that you forgot to hand in your pass! A true eye rolling moment. Beautifully told.

Good-byes are always so devastating except when one gets to say So Long to someone or something you truly hate. I really enjoyed this and there is so much truth here amongst the humour.

Lovely and poignant, despite all your attempts to deflate with humour! This is why I always loved school story series as a kid - you get all of the delicious anticipation of loss in the final volume, Last Term at Malory Towers, goodbyes in the common room, last chance to burn the anchovy toast, feminine adventures ahead and all that, but it’s very easy to just go back to the beginning and start reading about fresh-faced first-year pupils in their new hats again when it all gets too much.

(Also nice to hear about stepping away from old jobs and into new opportunities - I’m writing about that myself this week and it’s quite hard).

"...a hello in a voice you don't yet recognise" - I love this.
