Love this Justin. I've been forced to do it in recent months and am slowly starting to enjoy it rather than grumble about it. Going gentle into the good night seems to be the one for me right now. Hope you're ok xx

totally. We all need to air our frustrations every now and again but sometimes we have to let things go too. Makes life a bit more pleasant to live I thibj. Hope you’re doing well. xx

A lovely post and a really good reminder to slow down and be gentle in our lives, in the everyday 🤍 Definitely giving this a try and look forward to the new calmness it might bring me!

A lovely read (And "Hoping for Vol Au Vents" would make an excellent novel name)

Agree wholeheartedly, taking a moment & being deliberate make life far more pleasant, and grant us a feeling that we might vaguely be in control, whatever else is actually happening. Now, how do I impart this to three massive teenage boys…

Hope you are ok. I remember this post and I loved it then and love it even more now, because I am doing, or trying to do, the same. I have long run full pelt (mentally and physically) at everything for absolutely no reason and it's so tiring. (Therapy would call it the "Hurry Up" driver. ) I have a theory that part of the reason people love ASMR is because everything is done so deliberately, slowly and lovingly, and we wish we had more of that kind of care and lack of urgency and panic in our lives.

But...small steps, I'll start with being more gentle with my cupboard doors! 🤣

Oh that's such a good point about ASMR, Nicola – I never thought of that! It's so controlled and deliberate and smooth and takes its time. I'm not a fan of it to be honest, but maybe I should try again. And, yes, the cupboard door thing is a game changer. You really notice a difference in yourself.

Well I know it’s not for everyone, and I’m talking nice spa/facial/hair accessories ASMR rather than all the weird eating stuff 🤣 But really it’s more like how I will sometimes think to myself - how would you do this if you were making a YouTube video? Not to be performative but just to be that slow and deliberate and soothing. I mean, I rarely manage it. No one would watch my “channel” unless they wanted to have a nervous breakdown. lol. But we can but try!

I remember this post! I genuinely think of it every time I button up things haphazardly, because as you know, that never ever works. Sending love to you!
